Scottsdale auto insurance

Coverage for Scottsdale drivers, from a first car to the family SUV, with a local agent who explains your options in plain language.

What auto insurance covers

An auto policy is a bundle of coverages. Arizona requires liability insurance, and most drivers add more to protect their own car and budget.

Liability
Pays for injuries and property damage you cause to others. Arizona's minimum limits are $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for injuries, and $15,000 for property damage.
Collision
Repairs or replaces your car after a crash, no matter who is at fault.
Comprehensive
Covers theft, vandalism, hail, falling objects and glass damage, such as a cracked windshield.
Uninsured and underinsured motorist
Protects you when the other driver has too little insurance, or none.
Medical payments
Helps with medical bills for you and your passengers after an accident.

Choosing the right limits

The state minimum is a legal floor, not a recommendation. One serious accident can easily cost more than $25,000 in medical bills, and anything above your limits can come back to you. Many drivers choose higher liability limits, and some add an umbrella policy for extra protection.

Ways to fit coverage to your budget

  • Bundle policies. Combining auto with home or renters insurance may help lower your overall cost.
  • Choose a deductible you can afford. A higher deductible usually lowers your premium, as long as you could pay it after a claim.
  • Review coverage when life changes. A new car, a paid-off loan or a new teen driver are all good reasons to check in.

Driving into Mexico?

Most U.S. auto policies provide little or no coverage south of the border. Before a trip to Rocky Point or beyond, set up Mexican tourist auto insurance.
